Azerbaijan and Germany mull implementation of tax innovations

Discussions were held between Azerbaijan and Germany on the application of innovations in the field of taxation, Report informs, citing the State Tax Service under Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy.

The discussions took place during a video conference between Tax Service Head, President of the Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations (IOTA) Orkhan Nazarli, and the Head of the Tax Directorate of the German Federal Ministry of Finance Nils Weith.

The meeting focused on the potential opportunities for the development of joint activities, strengthening cooperation and promoting international relations. The parties shared their views on issues of diversifying partnership within IOTA, exchanging experience in the field of taxation at the bilateral level.

The sides discussed the activities of IOTA and the challenges observed in recent years. Proposals were considered to expand the capabilities of the organization, attract new members and increase financial sustainability. The work carried out during the leadership of the State Tax Service in IOTA, strategic development plans and prospects aimed at increasing the operational efficiency of the organization and its attractiveness for member states were brought to attention.

The meeting continued with an exchange of views on the priorities of bilateral cooperation in the field of taxation, and the importance of exchanging experience in implementing innovations and improving tax administration was emphasized.
