Azerbaijan among 20 reformers in Doing Business 2020

Azerbaijan was included in Top-20 reformers in Doing Business 2020 rating.

Report informs citing the World Bank that Azerbaijan’s position remained unchanged at 9th for the indicator ‘Starting a Business’, advanced from 22nd place to the 1st for the indicator ‘getting credit’ and moved from the 61st place to the 59th place for the indicator ‘construction permits’.

Along with this, Azerbaijan ranks 28th for ‘enforcing contracts’, 40th for ‘taxation’, 44th for ‘registering property’, 47th for ‘Resolving insolvency’, 80th for ‘electrical connection’, 83rd for ‘international trade’ and 105th for ‘protecting minority investors’.

The first two places were held by New Zealand and Singapore in the rating, in which Azerbaijan ranked 34th among 190 countries. The third place was held by Denmark, the fourth by Hong Kong. Top ten also includes South Korea, US, Georgia, Great Britain, Norway, and Sweden.

Generally, 115 countries have reportedly conducted 294 reforms to improve entrepreneurship.
