A groundbreaking documentary, "Ecocide in Karabakh and East Zangazur," is set to unveil the staggering extent of Armenia's destruction of nature in the region during its years of occupation. The project, spearheaded by the Public Association "Network of Azerbaijani Journalists," aims to shed light on the devastating impact of Armenia's actions on the environment.

The film will present historical evidence of forest fires, flora and fauna destruction, and the ecological toll inflicted during the occupation and the period of liberation of the districts. It will also highlight the challenges faced by Azerbaijan in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals in the liberated territories, with the landmine threat being the biggest obstacle, endangering both human lives and the environment.

Filming is scheduled to commence soon in Karabakh and East Zangazur, with the premiere of the documentary planned to coincide with the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be held in Azerbaijan. The project is financially supported by the State Agency for Support to Non-Governmental Organizations.

This documentary serves as a crucial step in exposing the environmental crimes committed by Armenia and showcasing Azerbaijan's determined efforts to restore and protect the ecosystem of Karabakh and East Zangazur.
