5th International Baku Theater Conference kicks off - PHOTO

Baku. 5 November. REPORT.AZ/ The official opening ceremony of the 5th International Baku Theater Conference has been held at the Azerbaijan State Musical Theater.

Report informs that Minister of Culture Abulfaz Garayev, President of International Theater Institute Muhammad Alafkhan, Head of the Department for Humanitarian Policy Issues of Presidential Administration Farah Aliyeva, academician Akif Alizadeh and a number of art figures attended the ceremony.

The opening of the conference started with a performance of people with disabilities.

Garayev said that the conference which will discuss the theater activity in the 21st century is very important event not only for Azerbaijan: "This is the discussion of the processes that take place in the world theater. We are delighted that this is the fifth time that Azerbaijan is hosting world's leading theater companies,researchers and professionals of the world theater. The conference will last for two days, and then the International Theater Festival to be held Azerbaijan will be a logical continuation of this conference. I believe that the theater topic to last in Azerbaijan during the two weeks will be of great interest."

The ceremony continued with the speech of the event participants.
