Vahid Hajiyev: Azerbaijan to expand agricultural production, processing

In the coming years, the development of agriculture, fisheries, and aquaculture will remain one of the main priorities of Azerbaijan's state policy, said Vahid Hajiyev, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts, according to Report's correspondent in Zangilan.

Speaking at a conference dedicated to the State Program for the Development of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Production and Processing in Azerbaijan for 2026–2030, Hajiyev noted that at the May 25 conference chaired by President Ilham Aliyev, the current situation in the agriculture sector was thoroughly analyzed, and key tasks were set to strengthen food security, increase productivity, and reduce dependence on imports.

The official emphasized that today's regional meeting for the Karabakh and East Zangazur economic regions focuses on the implementation of the State Program and the tasks ahead.

"The main goal of the program is to expand production and processing capacities in agriculture, fisheries, and aquaculture, encourage entrepreneurship, and contribute further to strengthening the country's food security," the special representative stressed.
