As a continuation of the meeting held with non-oil industry entrepreneurs from Absheron region and Sumgayit city in Baku, Economy Minister of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov got acquainted with the activities of numerous enterprises in the Yevlakh Pilot Agropark, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Economy.
According to the ministry, the heads of the ministerial departments, the head of the Yevlakh City Executive Power Anar Taghiyev, Professor Juan Jimenez of the Harvard Kennedy School, who is visiting Azerbaijan as part of the cooperation of the Economy Ministry with Harvard University on a research project, and researchers of the Harvard International Development Center also participated in the meeting with the enterprises.
Yevlax Pilot Agropark with a total area of 2,807 hectares is the first agricultural park created in the country with the involvement of SMEs farmers. It is planned to establish intensive orchards, livestock and poultry farms, as well as processing areas in the agropark. Water and electricity supply of the 815 ha area has been fully provided by the state in the agropark, intra-farm roads have been built, and work is ongoing on the construction of infrastructure in the 370 ha area.
