Azerbaijan resumes animal feed exports to Syria

In 2024, Azerbaijan exported 30,913 tons of animal feed (plant products, bran, plant waste, and residues), valued at $5.15 million, marking a year-on-year decline of 23% in volume and 38% in value, Report informs, citing the country’s Statistical Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan sold animal feed to:

- Türkiye: 15,248 tons (+50%) worth $3.16 million (+4%);

- Georgia: 10,330 tons (-10%) worth $1.3 million (-28%);

- Iran: 1,812 tons (-66%) worth $350,000 (-66%);

- Iraq: 3,000 tons (-76%) worth $268,000 (-88%);

- Syria: 458 tons worth $92,000.

Azerbaijan has resumed animal feed supplies to Syria after a 1-year and 11-month break.
Overall, 150,000 tons of animal feed were imported to Azerbaijan from 12 countries in 2023, of which 47.3% went to Argentina and 40% to Russia.
