Azerbaijan is looking to sign an agreement with Georgia regarding the exchange of data on water resources and their utilization in the Kur River, Rafig Verdiyev, an official of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, said at the event titled "The Role of Water Management Systems in Climate-Resilient Agriculture: COP29 Roundtable Discussions," Report informs.
Verdiyev stated that the agreement is targeted to be signed soon. "The snow reserves feeding the Kur River and the situation in the basin is crucial for us. We will be able to more accurately predict the amount of water expected in the upper parts of the Kur River in Azerbaijan during the spring season. This will enable us to provide precise forecasts for water users," he explained.
