Spain received record number of foreign tourists in 2024

Spain welcomed some 85.1 million foreign tourists in 2023, increasing its pre-pandemic record, the National Institute of Statistics said in a statement.

Report informs via TASS that, according to statistics, the figure for 2023 exceeds the 2019 level by 1.9%.

Total spending by international guests in 2023 exceeded €108.6 billion, up 18.2% on pre-pandemic levels.

One of the Spanish news agencies reports that Spain can overtake France and for the first time in history become the world leader in the number of foreign tourists visiting the country in a year.
