Number of Azerbaijani citizens visiting Turkey increases

Baku. 3 July. REPORT.AZ/ The number of citizens of Azerbaijan who visited Turkey increased in annual comparison by 28.96% and in January-May 2017 and reached 243 421 people. The share of Azerbaijanis in the total number of foreign guests increased from 2.27% to 2.78%.

Report informs referring to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey.

Only in May 2017, 56,408 citizens of Azerbaijan visited Turkey, which is 23.47% higher than in the same period last year.

The highest number of visitors are from Russia (928,376). The top five also included Georgia (874,955), Germany (863,572), Iran (774,010) and Bulgaria (638,409).

Notably, in January-May 2016, 188,761 Azerbaijanis visited Turkey, which means 10.37% decrease compared to previous year.
