Teacher at Surakhani orphanage home fired for beating minor

The Baku city Department responsible for preschool facilities and orphanages has commented on reports and footage featuring a teacher beating one of the children in an orphanage in Surakhani.

"Media outlets are today circulating a video and information featuring a teacher beating a child at Sukhakhani orphanage No 2. The Department holds systematic raids and inspections in kindergartens and orphanages and takes steps concerning the revealed facts. The mentioned incident happened last December. Following the decision of the commission investigating the matter, teacher Elnura Mammadova was dismissed for this incident and other shortcomings in her work."
