The statistical resource Numbeo has published a rating of the priciest cities in the world, Report says. Swiss Zurich named the most expensive city in the world according to the "cost of living index."
Swiss cities - Basel, Lausanne, Geneva, and Bern - are among the top five most expensive cities, followed by Norwegian Stavanger, Oslo, and Trondheim. Iceland's Reykjavik and Norway's Bergen are closing the top ten most expensive cities. The capital of Azerbaijan - Baku - took the 390th place. Moscow is the most expensive Russian city, finishing 251st, and Iran's Tehran is 285th.
The rankings also included Turkey's Istanbul (325th), Bursa (360th), Ankara (362nd ), Izmir (377th ) and Antalya (387th ). A total of 440 cities are listed.
Notably, Numbeo is a collaborative online database that enables users to share and compare information about the cost of living between countries and cities.
