Azerbaijani pilgrims arrive in Medina for sacred Hajj

In a significant spiritual undertaking, pilgrims from Azerbaijan have arrived in the holy city of Medina, Saudi Arabia, as part of their sacred Hajj pilgrimage.

Vusal Jahangiri, head of external relations at the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) and overseer of the electronic Hajj system, has confirmed to Report that eight groups of Azerbaijani pilgrims are currently in Medina, with one additional group already in Mecca.

The pilgrimage, known as Hajj, is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and a religious duty that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime by all able-bodied Muslims who can afford to do so. This year, a total of 1,500 pilgrims from Azerbaijan are participating in this spiritual journey

Jahangiri further elaborated on the pilgrims' itinerary: "Seven more groups of pilgrims will arrive in Medina today. By June 28, all groups will have traveled from Mecca to Medina. They will stay in Medina for three days. On June 26, the first group of pilgrims will depart by plane to Baku."
