Zakharova: Armenia should understand possible consequences of EU membership

Armenia should understand that the tariff and regulatory frameworks established for relations with the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) contradict each other, Russian Foreign Ministry's spokesperson Maria Zakharova told a briefing, Report informs.

"The issue is not about political inclination, but about the fact that all regulatory frameworks and tariff systems that form the basis of relations in the EU and EAEU contradict each other in nature," Zakharova stated.

According to the diplomat, it is possible to not voice and hide this problem, but this would mean disinformation.

"This is about Armenia's sovereign choice, but the main responsibility in terms of explaining the consequences of all subsequent steps lies with the country's current government. When making such fateful decisions, it is necessary to study public opinion polls and do preparatory work, to be honest," Zakharova declared.
