UK Ambassador: Peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia may be signed soon

The UK believes that the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia may be signed soon, UK Ambassador to Armenia, John Gallagher, said, Report informs, citing Armenpress.

According to him, Britain supports the participation of the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides in constructive negotiations.

“The talks between the representatives of Azerbaijan and Armenia are promising. Great Britain encourages direct meetings between the two sides and calls for more frequent meetings, taking into account the constructive atmosphere, making sure that even the most sensitive issues can be discussed."

Touching upon the process of normalizing Armenia-Türkiye relations, Ambassador Gallagher said that Britain also supports the parties in this matter: "Regulation of relations between Armenia and Türkiye is of great importance for the region, and, in particular, it will help Armenia to diversify its foreign policy and become a safer country."
