“The first reactor of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant is planned to be launched this year,” he said.

Bayraktar named October 29 as the planned launch date, when Türkiye celebrates its national holiday, Republic Day. “October 29 is our goal; the start of electricity production at nuclear power plants on the 101st anniversary of the proclamation of the republic will be very significant,” noted the head of the Turkish Ministry of Energy.
