Baku. 18 December. REPORT.AZ/ The Turkish Armed Forces and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) have completed preparations for a joint anti-terrorist operation in the east of Euphrates.
Report informs citing Haber7 that the due information was disseminated by the Turkish Armed Forces General Staff.
It was stated that 23-24 thousand servicemen and members of the Free Syrian Army will participate in the operation. The first phase of the cleaning process of the region from the terrorist PKK/YPG-PYD group will last two months. At this stage, the military men will enter 10 points occupied by terrorists.
Army commander Ismail Metin Temel will lead the anti-operation in the east of Euphrates.
As a result of the operation 17 thousand square meters of territory are expected to be cleared from terrorists.
It was stressed that Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates sent a new delegation to the region to prevent this operation of the Turkish Armed Forces and the Free Syrian Army. The delegation met with civilian and military officials in Syria, and leaders of Arabian tribes and PKK terrorist groups. They proposed a new action plan called "Gulf Staff 3". According to this road map, military men from the Gulf states and Egypt along with the Kurdish rebels called “pesmarga” will be deployed in the direction of al-Hasakah, Manbij, Ras al-Ayn, Tel-Abyad, Raqqa and Qamishli. Members of the delegation, Farouk al-Mashi, Mohamed Bennavi and Abu Adel, admit that they met with terrorist PKK leaders.
Notably, Turkey seeks to oust PKK/YPG-PYD terrorist grouping from Euphrates.
