The Armenian opposition is based on the 'Karabakh clan,' who want revenge, political scientist Pr. Gabil Huseynli said.

"They managed to gather only five thousand people around them, and this figure is gradually decreasing. That is, the steps of the opposition are not yet decisive," the expert said, as quoted by Report.

"The 'Karabakh clan' is supported by the Armenian diaspora in Russia and some part of the Russian political elite. Nevertheless, the events in the region weaken the position of the Kremlin. Global processes are developing in favor of Azerbaijan. Yerevan understands this too," he said.

According to Huseynli, Armenia has no other way than to sign a peace treaty:

"The opposition will not be able to take any steps. Karabakh will remain an integral part of Azerbaijan in the future. This means that the start of the third Karabakh war is unrealistic. The decisive force in the region is the Azerbaijani-Turkish tandem. If a third war starts, this will be the end of Armenian statehood. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan understands this well, and therefore he is fighting the opposition."

Armenia has been overwhelmed with the protests for already two weeks, with the participants accusing Pashinyan of betrayal.
