The storm wind, with the velocity reaching 70 km/h in some places, hit the Turkish province of Antalya on January 11 evening, Report informs referring to TASS.
The height of the waves off the coast near the popular Konyaalti beach reached 6 meters, trees were knocked down in many areas of the resort, dozens of cars were damaged.
In many settlements, heavy rains caused flooding, in some places the streets turned into rivers. The strongest wind, according to meteorologists, was recorded in the Isparta province neighboring Antalya: it reached 102 km/h.
Turkiye’s General Directorate of Meteorology issued a storm warning, according to which heavy precipitation, storm winds and a temperature drop of two to five degrees are expected in 11 regions of the country, mainly in the Mediterranean and Aegean seas, on January 12.
