State Committee: Terrorist attack was being prepared in Kazakhstani capital

A resident of Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, was preparing for a terrorist attack and also recruited people for terrorist activities, the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan, Report informs via Kazakh media.

“The guilty verdict of the Saryarqa district court of Astana against a resident of the capital has entered into force. The court proved him guilty of preparing for an act of terrorism, recruiting and training persons to organize terrorist activities, as well as promoting terrorism, forcibly seizing and holding power, changing the constitutional order of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” the committee said.

He was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

The Court of Appeal for Criminal Cases of the Astana Court upheld the verdict.
