The Baltic countries do not accept Georgia's sovereign policy and demand that it demonstrate an open position against Russia, according to the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, Report informs.
The speaker criticized the sanctions imposed by the Baltic countries against Georgia, calling them "unfounded" and aimed at putting pressure on the Georgian government. He singled out Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania for imposing sanctions against Georgian officials.
Papuashvili argued that Georgia's contributions to NATO and international security issues are greater than those of the Baltic countries. Despite this, he believes that Tbilisi faces unfair criticism.
"True friendship is unrequited, but the Baltic countries demonstrate conditional friendship," the parliament speaker emphasized.
Papuashvili added that instead of supporting Georgia's stability and peace policy, some Western countries use the issue of democracy as an excuse to pressure the government.
