Simonyan: Armenia ready for active cooperation with Russia

Armenia is ready for active cooperation and development of long-term partnership with Russia, Speaker of the parliament of the republic Alen Simonyan said, Report informs via Armenian media.

"The Republic of Armenia is ready for active cooperation with the Russian Federation, based on constructive dialogue, trust, and the desire for progressive development of partnership relations. We are aimed at developing long-term mutually beneficial cooperation," Simonyan said at a meeting with Chairperson of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko in Yerevan.

He noted that Yerevan appreciates all the positive aspects in relations with Moscow.

"I would like to note with pleasure the activation of dialogue with Russia since the beginning of this year," Simonyan said.

He also stressed that holding an extraordinary meeting of the interparliamentary commission as part of Valentina Matviyenko's visit testifies to the mutual interest of the parties 'in maintaining a dynamic dialogue and the desire to further strengthen the strategic partnership between our countries.'

For her part, Matviyenko stated that Russia is interested in developing and expanding multifaceted cooperation with Armenia.

"Today, we are natural allies. We are strategic partners," Matviyenko added.
