Security Service and defense intelligence of Ukraine attack Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant at night

Ukrainian special services attacked the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant overnight on February 24th. This is one of the largest similar plants in Russia, which works for the Russian army, according to RBC-Ukraine's sources, Report informs.

The sources note that this is one of the largest metallurgical plants in Russia. It operates within the military-industrial complex and fulfills many state orders. Raw materials from this enterprise are used to produce Russian missiles, artillery, drones, etc.

A massive fire broke out after powerful explosions at the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant, and all the plant personnel were evacuated.

According to Ukrainian special services, the Security Service of Ukraine and Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, drones targeted installations designed for primary cooling of untreated coke gas. Damage to these objects will lead to the shutdown of the entire production process of the metallurgical plant for a long time.

The owner of the affected plant is the oligarch Vladimir Lisin, who is close to Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Forbes estimates, he is one of the three wealthiest people in Russia.

According to the media, until recently, the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant produced raw materials for Russian companies involved in nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles.
