Pashinyan's press secretary refutes news about storage of French nuclear waste in Armenia

The press secretary of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, denied the information from French media claiming that the French state nuclear company Orano secretly began transporting spent nuclear fuel to Armenia, Report informs.

According to Baghdasaryan, the dissemination of this information aims to "undermine Armenia's international reputation and overshadow the country's cooperation with France."

In Baghdasaryan's opinion, there are "certain centers" that interfere with Armenia's policy and the implementation of its "programs."

According to the publication courrierfrance24.fr, the implementation of this plan began a few weeks after the visit of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Paris in February 2025. There he met with French President Emmanuel Macron and high-ranking energy officials. As a result, toxic cargo was sent to one of the most environmentally vulnerable regions of Armenia — the Dilijan Reserve, located in a national park protected by UNESCO.

The scandalous supplies from France began shortly after a series of "charitable" donations to the "My Step" foundation, whose executive director is the wife of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Anna Hakobyan. According to Courrier France 24, in April and May 2025, the "My Step" foundation received two separate donations of 800,000 euros from a French shell company that had never made charitable donations before.
