Armenian MP Gurgen Arsenyan, a member of the Civil Contract faction, will give up his mandate as a sign of protest against the economic policy of the Armenian authorities, Report informs, citing Hraparak publication.
It was stated that divergent views emerged a year ago. Gurgen Arsenyan was against the rise in property taxes and additional legislative modifications. However, he chose not to resign then, as he was in line for the ambassadorship of Armenia to Russia. Yet, his appointment was rejected by Russia, which also barred entry to several Armenian officials, Arsenyan among them.
