Media: Turkmen president cancels visit to Tajikistan

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has postponed a visit to Tajikistan scheduled for April 10-11 due to the death of his grandmother, Report informs referring to TASS.

Also, according to the Asia-Plus news agency, citing information from the press service of the head of Tajikistan, the first meeting of the Business Council of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan and the business forum of entrepreneurs from both countries have been canceled.

On April 7, Tajik leader Emomali Rahmon sent condolences to Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the father of the current president of the republic, in connection with the death of his mother, Ogulabat Berdimuhamedova.

As the official Turkmen agency TDH reported on April 8, Ogulabat Berdimuhamedova passed away at the age of 86. The date of death is not specified.
