Iran wants to produce cars together with Russia, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali told Izvestiya newspaper, Report informs.

He noted that negotiations are underway on this issue.

“We are striving for the joint production of cars. I myself visited some plants of the Russian automobile industry, and it seems to me that in this sense we can complement each other. Very serious negotiations are underway on this,” the diplomat said.

In this direction, Iran began to cooperate with the Tver and Kaluga regions. In addition, the diplomat said that he was at the automobile plant in Nizhny Novgorod and noted the potential for bilateral cooperation.

The ambassador also noted Iran’s readiness to cancel the visa regime for Russian citizens.
