Irakli Kobakhidze nominated for post of Prime Minister of Georgia

The current chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party, Irakli Kobakhidze, has been nominated for the post of Prime Minister of the country.
Report informs via Georgian media that Kobakhidze’s candidacy was nominated at the congress of the ruling Georgian Dream party on February 1.
The Georgian prime minister's seat became vacant after Irakli Garibashvili announced his resignation and intention to become chairman of the ruling party. Thus, Irakli Garibashvili and Irakli Kobakhidze actually exchanged their positions.
