Five-story building collapses in Russia’s Astrakhan

A residential building located at Station Square in the Astrakhan region of Russia has partially collapsed, casting a pall of uncertainty over the residents, Report informs via BNN.
The collapse, which occurred at a five-story building, is reported to have been caused by a potential erosion of the building’s foundation by sewer water, leading to a terrifying collapse of two entrances of the structure. This has raised fears of residents possibly being trapped under the debris.
News of the collapse was promptly confirmed by both the regional governor and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Rescue teams have been deployed to the site.
