The Council of the European Union has decided to extend for one year, until October 9, 2027, individual sanctions against those responsible for Russia's destabilizing activities abroad.
According to Report, citing Interfax and a communiqué from the Council of the EU, the restrictive measures currently apply to 80 individuals and 20 entities.
The document said those included on the sanctions list are subject to an asset freeze. EU citizens and companies are prohibited from making funds, financial assets or economic resources available to them.
The individuals concerned are also subject to a ban on entering or transiting through the territory of the European Union.
The EU mechanism of restrictive measures under this sanctions regime against Russia was adopted on October 8, 2024.
The measures concern what the EU describes as intensifying hybrid activities, including information manipulation and foreign interference targeting the European Union, its member states and partners.
