Counterterrorism operation in Makhachkala and Derbent concludes

The National Antiterrorism Committee (NAC) has announced the conclusion of the counterterrorism operation in the cities of Makhachkala and Derbent, located in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. The operation was launched in response to a series of militant attacks that claimed the lives of more than 15 police officers.

According to Report, which cites the committee, all the attackers have been eliminated, effectively neutralizing the threats to citizens' lives and health. As a result, the legal regime of the counterterrorism operation within the administrative boundaries of Makhachkala and Derbent has been lifted as of 8:15 AM local time.
