Armenia has no plans to join the BRICS group, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan confirmed, putting to rest speculation about the country's potential membership in the bloc.
"No, no, there are no such discussions at this stage," Grigoryan told reporters when asked about the possibility of Armenia's accession to BRICS, which comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
The clarification comes as Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is set to participate in the upcoming BRICS summit, slated to take place in Kazan, Russia, from October 22-24.
