Baku and Yerevan officially agreed on two articles of the peace treaty at a meeting held in Washington, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said at a joint press briefing with UK Minister for Europe Leo Docherty, Report informs via Sputnik Armenia.
He said that sincere negotiations were conducted about other articles: “We were able to talk candidly about the rest of the articles. I would also like to note that the parties understood each other better during the talks.”
Mirzoyan added that the parties' positions on the most complex and problematic issues are very far from each other.
The minister said that certainty on the issue of state border delimitation is important for Armenia. According to him, the positions of Baku and Yerevan are close on the issue of opening transport communications in the region.
