Uzbekistan interested in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan in media and communications

Uzbekistan has expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of media and communications.

In Uzbekistan, Azerbaijani TV channels are available both on streaming platforms and through cable television, and their presence in the online space has significantly increased.

"We see this area as promising and are confident that it should be actively developed," said Dilshod Saidjanov, First Deputy Director of the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

According to Report, Saidjanov made the remarks during a meeting with representatives of Azerbaijani media and heads of press services from various Azerbaijani government institutions.

He also stressed that Uzbekistan is interested in ensuring that the Azerbaijani audience learns more about the country, its culture, and contemporary realities.

According to him, cultural exchange through media content strengthens mutual understanding between peoples:

"The popularity of Uzbek TV series in Azerbaijan shows that the themes that concern our society resonate with you as well. We understand how dramatic or comedic our series can be, and it is through this kind of cultural exchange and communication that genuine people-to-people interaction happens. This is a key element of public diplomacy," Saidjanov noted.

He also emphasized the need to increase the frequency of mutual visits with Azerbaijani colleagues, highlighting that there are many interesting places to visit in Uzbekistan.

"And of course, we also want to visit Azerbaijan more often. Shamakhi, Shaki, Lahij, the northern regions – I believe these are places worth seeing and exploring. We would be interested in discovering new locations, as it also contributes to the development of bilateral tourism and deepens cultural ties between our two countries," he added.
