US: 24 thousand test positive for coronavirus

United States has confirmed 24 thousand new COVID-19 cases within the past 24 hours, Report says, citing Johns Hopkins University.
A day earlier, the figure reached 32 thousand. Over the past day, 250 more fell victim to the virus, while the number was 595 the day before.
On December 31, 2019, Chinese authorities announced an outbreak of pneumonia in China's Wuhan, and the causative agent is a new type of coronavirus officially named COVID-19.
On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak of a new coronavirus a pandemic.
More than 2.3 million people have contracted coronavirus in the US so far, while 120 thousand lost lives. More than 622,000 recovered.
