UK sees record hike in COVID incidence since early 2021

The UK registered 48,553 coronavirus cases per day, which is a record high since mid-January, Report informs via foreign media.
A few days ago the figure was 42,000, and just over 32,000 a week ago.
Sixty-three COVID patients died over the past day, which is also a record increase since March 26.
At the same time, according to the Health Ministry, two-thirds of the country's adult population have received two doses of a coronavirus vaccine.
In total, more than five million people have contracted the novel coronavirus in the UK, and 4.3 million of the infected have already recovered. The death toll has exceeded 128,000.
