Sweden and Finland have specific obligations regarding their membership in NATO, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said at a press conference with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Ankara on February 20.
He said that there are fewer problems regarding Finland:
"Sweden still supports terrorism which prevents it from joining NATO. If Sweden wants to, it can block such steps. In any case, the faster Sweden takes steps in this direction, the faster the membership of the Alliance will be."
According to Cavusoglu, different steps can be taken concerning Finland.
