Tsunami wave measuring 1.3 meters hits Kuji Port in Japan

A tsunami wave measuring 1.3 meters (4.3 feet) has been recorded at Kuji Port in Japan’s Iwate prefecture, the Japan Meteorological Agency said, Report informs.
The agency warned that wave heights are continuing to increase.
After the earthquake in Kamchatka, Japan issued a tsunami warning. A tsunami of about 3 meters high was expected in most regions. So far, the tsunami height off the coast of Japan has been 40-30 centimeters.
A crisis headquarters has been established under the Japanese Prime Minister's Office. Traffic on a number of roads and railways has been suspended, and the runway at Sendai Airport in the northeast of the country has been closed. At least 356,000 people have been ordered to evacuate.
