Spanish king expresses concern over migration situation in Ceuta

Spanish King Felipe VI has expressed concern over the situation in the autonomous city of Ceuta amid a mass influx of migrants, Report informs, citing EFE.

He said he was concerned about the migration crisis and stressed the importance of ensuring the security of the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla.

According to Felipe VI, measures should be taken to demonstrate the support of the rest of Spain for residents of these territories.

About 50,000 people from Morocco earlier crossed into Spain's Ceuta enclave by land and sea routes.

The mass influx of migrants forced Spanish authorities to involve the armed forces in ensuring security.
