Russian strikes cause partial blackout in Ukraine's Odesa region

Russian forces carried out powerful strikes on Ukraine's Odesa region, causing a partial blackout, Report informs.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote this on Telegram.

"There were reports on the consequences of Russian strikes on Odesa, Kharkiv, Pavlohrad and other regions," he said.

According to Zelenskyy, repair work is continuing in Odesa and the region to restore electricity supply after a severe strike on energy infrastructure. Residential buildings and the port were also damaged overnight.

As of now, eight people are known to have been injured, and all of them are receiving assistance, he said.

Zelenskyy noted that in Kharkiv, a direct drone hit partially destroyed a residential high-rise building, injuring dozens of people and killing two. Strikes were also carried out near a shopping center and against energy infrastructure in Pavlohrad, where nine people were injured.

Overall, Russian forces attacked Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Kherson, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions.

"Russia continues to rely on ballistic terror, which is not limited to one city or community. This week alone, 61 missiles of various types were used against Ukraine, including 56 ballistic missiles. There were also more than 1,560 attack drones and 1,540 aerial bombs," Zelenskyy said.
