Russian customs officers find crocodile head in tourist's luggage

Customs officers found a crocodile head in the luggage of a tourist in the Khabarovsk region of Russia who arrived from Vietnam, Report informs referring to Russian media with reference to customs.

"The inspectors found the exotic goods in the Russian's suitcase using an X-ray machine during a random check," the update says.

According to the tourist, he purchased the crocodile head for his personal collection and did not know about the need to declare it. The examination also confirmed that this is a real saltwater crocodile head. This species of animal falls under the CITES Convention.

Two criminal cases were opened on the fact of the incident under the article on "Failure to comply with prohibitions and restrictions" and "Failure to declare goods."
