Pakistani PM condemns Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia

Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a phone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Office of the Prime Minister of Pakistan said in a post on X.

According to the post, cited by Report, during the warm and highly friendly conversation, the prime minister reiterated Pakistan's strong condemnation of the Houthis' recent attacks on Saudi Arabia's civilian and economic infrastructure.

Expressing full solidarity with the Saudi leadership and the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia, Shehbaz Sharif said the Houthi actions threaten regional peace and security and could further destabilize the global economy and energy supplies.

The prime minister added that, together with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, he would continue efforts to ease tensions and establish peace in the region.

In this regard, Shehbaz Sharif highly praised the Saudi crown prince's wise and forward-looking leadership throughout the crisis. The prime minister also conveyed warm wishes and respectful greetings to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Mohammed bin Salman, in turn, expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its unwavering support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. The two leaders agreed to maintain close contact and expressed hope for an early meeting.
