Mortar shell explosion kills four children in Afghanistan 

Four children were killed in a mortar shell explosion in the Shah Wali Kot district of the southern Kandahar province on Friday, an official said, Report informs, referring to the Afghan media.

Police Spokesperson Mohammad Asif Hakimi told Pajhwok Afghan News victims were playing with a mortar shell when it went off on Friday morning.

Hakimi urged masses to inform security personnel if they find war remnants in their areas.

He also asked elders to prevent children from playing with explosive items.
