Martin Herem set to take over as Estonia's defense minister

Former Commander of the Estonian Defence Forces General Martin Herem is set to become the country's new defense minister.
According to Report, citing ERR, Prime Minister Kristen Michal offered Herem the post and he accepted.
The Reform Party is expected to formally approve Herem's candidacy for defense minister at a board meeting on September 15, Michal said.
Herem served as Commander of the Estonian Defence Forces from December 5, 2018, to June 30, 2024.
Former Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur resigned earlier in September.
