Lockheed Martin receives $1B contract from Pentagon

The US defense-industrial concern Lockheed Martin has received a contract from the US Department of Defense worth almost $1 billion, Report informs referring to the Pentagon.

The deal was concluded as part of the Sentinel intercontinental ballistic missile production program.

According to defense documents, Lockheed Martin has been awarded a $996.2 million contract for the MK21A warhead program. This agreement provides for the development, production and engineering to ensure a low technical risk and affordable cost of the Sentinel warhead.

The deadline for completing the contract is set at October 20, 2039.
