Death toll from Russian strike on Kyiv rises to 25

The death toll from Russia's large-scale missile attack on Kyiv during the night of July 2 has risen to 25, according to Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration.

Tkachenko said eight residents of a destroyed building in the Darnytskyi district of the Ukrainian capital remain missing.

He added that rescue teams will continue working without interruption until the rubble is fully cleared, warning that the death toll could rise further.

Following Russia's overnight mass strike on Ukraine's capital, July 3 has been declared a day of mourning in Kyiv, Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced on Telegram, Report informs.

"July 3 has been declared a day of mourning in Kyiv in memory of the victims of the enemy's massive attack. On this day, flags will be lowered to half‑mast on all municipal buildings. It is also recommended that state institutions lower their flags," Klitschko stated.

He added that at least 13 people were killed and 86 were injured in the attack. Search and rescue operations continue in a damaged residential building in the Darnytskyi district, where people may still be trapped under the rubble.
