At least 79 people died in Tokyo since early August due to hot weather, said NHK TV channel.
Report informs, citing TASS, that more than 80% of all deaths are over 70 years old.
The main reason for this is that many people do not install air conditioning in their homes.
The temperature in Hamamatsu, Japan, was 41.1 degrees C yesterday, a repeat of two years ago.
