Gold mine collapse in Sudan kills at least 60

At least 60 people have died following the collapse of a gold mine in southern Sudan, with dozens of miners feared trapped under the debris, Report informs via foreign media outlets.

The incident occurred on September 15 at the Al‑Zaraa mine near El‑Nahud city in West Kordofan region.

By the next morning, the bodies of 63 victims had been recovered from beneath the rubble.

Witnesses said that search operations for the dead and possible survivors are continuing with primitive tools, but heavy machinery is urgently needed to clear the debris.
