France wildfires spread across 98,000 hectares

Forest fires in France have covered approximately 98,000 hectares, setting a new historic record, according to the statement of French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez, Report informs, citing Sky News.
According to him, 197,000 people have been evacuated due to the fires.
Nuñez noted that the fire is currently located about 30 km from Bordeaux.
The minister believes that the fight against the blaze will be long and difficult: "Eighteen aircraft have been mobilized to extinguish the fire."
