Mass resettlement of the population remains one of the key problems of Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, stated urban planning expert from Nepal, Lajana Manandhar, at WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
According to her, a number of initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable communities have already been implemented in Nepal.
"We have achieved good results by promoting savings and credit cooperatives managed by communities and women. These cooperatives have helped poor families in informal settlements gain access to land and housing," Manandhar noted.
She emphasized that such initiatives have also contributed to expanding opportunities for women and strengthening local communities.
